The Archbold High School golf team defeated Fayette 172-208, Wednesday, Aug. 15, and finished 10th in the Defi- ance Open golf invitational at Kettenring Country Club, Monday, Aug. 13.
“We were pretty solid” in the win over Fayette, said Kevin Miller, AHS coach. “I was pretty happy with it.”
Archbold’s Steven Kinsman was match medalist with a 40. Tyler Bernath shot a 42, while Jacob Nafziger had a 43 and Steve Nafziger, 47.
Other Streaks: Jackson Beck 49, Andre Hurst 55.
Caleb Brinegar led Fayette with a 42. Austin Hylander shot a 46; Chase Hookstadt, 57; and Taylor Curry, 63; rounded out the top four. Nelson Barnhiser shot a 64.
Wauseon won the Defiance Open with a team score of 310. The Streaks were 10th with a score of 348.
Archbold’s four low scores were Tyson Bostelman, 84; Kinsman, 85; J. Nafziger, 87; and Bernath, 92. Micah Grime shot a 93.
“I was satisfied with their play,” said Miller. “We would’ve liked to have shot better, but Kettenring is a tough course.”
