AHS Girls Third At Wildcat Invitational

After finishing seventh in 2016, the Archbold girls team improved to a thirdplace finish at the Wildcat Cross Country Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 30, at Kalida.

Archbold finished seventh in the boys race.


Columbus Grove won the girls title with 35 points. Napoleon took second with 68, while the Streaks finished with 91 for third place.

There were 11 teams and 107 runners.

Kylie Sauder was the first Blue Streak into the chute. She placed fourth in 19 minutes, 18 seconds.

Brittney Ramirez was next, placing 13th in 20:20. Gwynne Riley was 17th in 20:37; Camryn Hudson placed 24th in 21:29; and Elizabeth Schmucker finished 55th in 23:24.

Other AHS runners, their places and times: 59. Shylo Richardson 23:43; 76. Rosalyn Flores 25:17; 90. Caitlyn Beldon 27:06; 104. Natalie Roth 31:11.

Napoleon’s Sydney Niekamp won in 18:50.


Napoleon won the boys title with 103 points. Ottawa- Glandorf was second with 128, and Columbus Grove was third with 139.

Archbold was seventh with 230.

There were 19 teams and 193 runners.

Caden Garrow was the first Blue Streak into the chute. He placed 15th in 17:44.

Brendon Johns was 24th in 17:58; Hunter Beaverson placed 64th in 19:03; Adam Kinsman finished 65th in 19:03; and Bryson Taylor placed 75th in 19:15.
