Four letterwinners return for Logan Wyse, who is entering his fifth year as Archbold girls tennis coach.
Wyse lost four letterwinners from a team that went 8-6 in 2018.
Back are seniors Elizabeth Mignin and Sara Lovejoy; and juniors Maggie Henry and Adrianna Thompson.
Mignin, Lovejoy, and Henry are two year-letterwinnners, while Thompson earned her first letter last year.
“This year I see our team performing well” said Wyse. “We have four returning letterwinners, as well as some new young talent.
“Weaknesses for this season are like most seasons. We have a number of underclassmen that are new to tennis.
“We rely on good practices and the upperclassmen to get the team up to speed for the season.”
Promising newcomers are sophomores Sophie Schramm and Mya Stuckey.
“I think 2019 is going to be a strong year for our tennis team,” said Wyse. “Many people are back from last year, and the ones that played junior varsity are ready to make the move to the varsity level.
“We added an assistant coach, Caroline Kinsman, who was a three-year varsity letterwinner for Archbold. She is bringing added experience and knowledge to help” the team.
