AHS Girls Soccer Wins Two

The Archbold soccer team recorded two wins last week to improve to 7-2-1 on the season.

The Streaks beat Wauseon 5-1, Tuesday, Sept. 16, then followed with a 4-0 defeat of Swanton, Thursday, Sept. 18.

AHS 5, Wauseon 1

Trisha King scored the game’s first goal. Jessica Ramirez added the second goal of the first half. Alicia Drewes dribbled in for the Streaks’ third goal.

Wauseon changed goalies to help stop the Streak attack as AHS was ahead 3-0 at halftime.

Wauseon had several attempts on goal, but Jenni Beck, with yet another outstanding game, denied all but one goal the Indians attempted.

Autumn Lantz scored off the corner post to put the Streaks up 4-1. A final goal by Drewes put the Streaks up 5-1.

AHS 4, Swanton 0

After losing nine of its 11 starting players, Swanton’s work was cut out for it as Archbold returned all but three starters.

Archbold took a 2-0 halftime lead with goals from Ramirez and Kelsey Moshier. Courtney Day scored her first goal of the season to help advance the score to 3-0.

The Streaks’ defensive line of Paige Stamm, Carley Wyse, Drewes, Beck, and Mindy Rupp held the Bulldogs scoreless.

Drewes hit a heel pass to Autumn Lantz, who scored the fi- nal goal for the 4-0 final.
