Archbold ended its season in a big way with a 12- 0 Northwest Ohio Athletic League girls soccer victory over Liberty Center, Thursday, Oct. 11, at Spengler Field.
The victory gave the Streaks an unblemished 4-0 record in the league and its second straight NWOAL title. Archbold is 13-3 overall.
“It is great to win the NWOAL title outright again this year,” said James Kidder, AHS head coach.
“We accomplished our number one goal.
“Our girls played a great game against Liberty Center on Thursday, and it was a good finish to the regular season and a great night to recognize our seniors.
“We are looking forward to the tournament beginning for us, and hope that we are able to reach even more milestones the rest of the season.”
Archbold led 7-0 at halftime. Cassidy Wyse and Lauren Kindinger each scored two goals in the first half, while Ella Weaver, Mara Beck, and Ashley Short each scored one goal.
Madison Kohler scored twice in the second half, and Alexa Coressel, Bailey Grieser, and Cassi Wyse scored single goals.
Top-seeded in the Division III sectional tournament at Swanton, Archbold received a bye in the first round.
The Streaks play Otsego (7-8-0) in a sectional final, tomorrow, Thursday, at 4:45 p.m. The Knights defeated Toledo Christian 1-0 in a sectional semifinal, Saturday, Oct. 13.
Thursday’s winner plays in a district semifinal, Tuesday, Oct. 23, 4:45 p.m., at Swanton. The district final is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 27, 5 p.m., at Lake High School, Millbury.
