The Archbold girls soccer team raised its record to 5- 1, 1-0 in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League with two victories last week.
The Streaks edged by Liberty Benton 4-3, Monday, Sept. 10. Alicia Hernandez scored Archbold’s first goal in the first half with 33:18 on the clock.
Jesse Fidler was fouled in the box and scored on a penalty kick with 29:25 left in the half as the Streaks led 2-1 at halftime.
Lauren Kindinger scored both AHS goals in the second half. The first was with 30:37 left on the clock.
The Eagles closed the gap to 3-2 with a goal of their own.
The second goal by Kindinger, which secured the victory, was on a penalty kick with 7:37 remaining in the game after a hand ball in the box.
A hand ball means deliberate handling of a ball by a player other than the goalkeeper in the penalty area.
Liberty-Benton scored its last goal to make the final 4-3.
Fidler and Cassidy Wyse each had assists.
AHS 5, Bryan 0
Wyse gave AHS a 2-0 halftime lead with goals at the 20:45 and 4:27 marks of the first half.
Kindinger extended the lead to 3-0 with a goal and 39:37 on the clock.
Hernandez made the score 4-0 two minutes later, and Mara Beck scored the final goal with 24:15 left to give the Streaks their first league victory of the season.
Meggie Yoder and Jensyn Garrow each had assists.
