AHS Girls Soccer Blanks Stritch, Cats

The Archbold girls soccer team went on a goal-scoring barrage last week when the Streaks hosted a pair of nonconference games.

Ranked fifth in Division III in this week’s Northwest Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association poll, the Streaks blasted Cardinal Stritch 9-0, Thursday, Sept. 5, and blanked Napoleon 7- 0, Saturday, Sept. 7, to run their record to 5-0-1.

AHS 9, Cardinal Stritch 0

The Streaks opened a 4-0 first-half lead and put the pedal to the metal in the second half to secure a 9-0 win over Stritch.

Leah McQuade scored the first two goals only three minutes apart.

Amber Gericke and Carlee Meyer added two more goals for a 4-0 halftime lead.

Meyer added a second goal, Regan Ramirez scored twice, and Emma Hall and Sophie Rupp each scored to round out the Archbold scoring.

R. Ramirez and Kalyn Baker each had two assists while Chloe Nofziger and Brittney Ramirez each had one.

AHS 7, Napoleon 0

Archbold jumped out to another 4-0 lead in the first half and coasted to the 7-0 win over the visiting Wildcats.

McQuade, Nofziger and Jenna Mahnke scored two goals each while Karsyn Hostetler scored one.

Nofziger and Hostetler each had two assists, and Rupp had one.
