AHS Girls Raise Record To 8-0

Archbold raised its record to 8-0, 3-0 in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League with a 53-32 girls basketball victory at Bryan, Friday, Dec. 14.

“It was a nice league win at Bryan,” said Brian Ziegler, AHS head coach. “I thought we did a better job rebounding tonight.

“We just finished a stretch of three games this week. I liked the effort in all three games; we never had a letup.

“It’s good to get wins when we’ve had very little practice or prep time. Cassidy Williams gave us a boost off the bench tonight, and Cassidy Wyse also had a solid game.”

Williams led all scorers with 15 points, while Wyse finished with 10.

Hannah Schimmoeller led Bryan (2-4, 0-2 NWOAL) with 14.

Archbold led 15-9 after one. The Bears didn’t score a point in the second period while the Streaks scored 14 to extend the difference to 29-9 at the half.

AHS was up 35-18 after three, and a big fourth quarter for both teams, with the Streaks outscoring the Bears 18-14, resulted in the 53-32 victory.
