“This was a good opening win for us tonight,” said Brian Ziegler, AHS head coach. “(We are) a new team with new roles.

“We played hard against a good team. We did a nice job with our ball pressure, forcing 26 turnovers.”

Archbold committed 19 turnovers, and won the rebounding battle 26-15.

Archbold led 10-4 after one period and 19-9 at the half. The Streaks outscored the Bulldogs 14-11 in the third period and 16-8 in the fourth for the 27-point victory.

AHS was 15-23 for 65% from the foul line, while Edgerton was 7-15 for 47%.

“We had good balance offensively and shot free throws decent for the first game. We still have work to do, but I’m happy with the first win.”
