The Archbold girls junior varsity soccer team defeated Lima Bath 3-0, Saturday, Sept. 4.
Lima Bath had some fast outside midfielders that brought the ball up the field, but Archbold’s defense of Jesse Fidler, Ella Weaver, Hanna Allison, Ashley Short, and Brie Deskins in goal shut them down on all attempts.
Meggie Yoder scored to give the Streaks a 1-0 lead going into halftime. In the second half, Ashley Davis was the first one off the line to intercept the ball and charge toward the goal, but her attempt was stopped by the defense.
Lauren Kindinger received the ball, made a run toward the goal, and shot the ball past the goalie to give the Streaks a 2-0 lead.
The game came to a halt when Alora Drewes had a breakaway but had a devastating collision with a Bath defender. She was taken to the hospital with a mild concussion.
Sierra Nofziger added the final goal to seal the win.
