AHS Girls, Ida Boys Win Archbold Invite

After finishing second last year, the Archbold girls cross country team captured the Archbold Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 9.

Defending champion Blissfield, Mich., finished second.

In the boys race, Ida, Mich., who finished second last year, ran away from the competition to win. Ida’s first five runners into the chute all finished in the top nine.

Archbold, last year’s boys champion, finished sixth with 142 points.

Girls

Archbold 39, Blissfield 51, Wauseon 90, North Baltimore 121, Ida 125, Hilltop 130, Ayersville 141

Archbold’s first four runners all finished in the top 10.

Kylie Sauder was the first Blue Streak to finish. She finished third in 20 minutes, 28 seconds.

Dakota Stamm was seventh in 20:57. Gwynne Riley was ninth in 21:28, and Brittney Ramirez was 10th in 21:30.

Camryn Hudson was Archbold’s final scoring runner, finishing 15th in 22:46.

Brendon Johns was the first Blue Streak into the chute. He placed 12th in 19:04.

Devin Witte finished 30th in 20:34, while Hunter Beaverson was 33rd in 20:46. Edward Rash placed 40th in 21:07, and Dawson Liechty was 43rd in 21:27.
