Archbold led 31-19 at the half on its way to a 49-38 non-league girls basketball victory at Napoleon, Thursday, Dec. 27.

“This was a nice nonleague win for us,” said Brian Ziegler, AHS head coach.

“Give Napoleon credit. We would build a lead to 13 or 14 points and they would cut into it.

“Everyone contributed. We had nice balance offensively, with Hannah Hesterman, Cassidy Wyse, and Cassidy Williams in double figures.

“Jesse Fidler didn’t get many chances to score, but gave us some great defense.

“Darian Oberlin and Taylor Coressel had solid games. Winter Fricke, Alexa Coressel, and Krista Leupp gave us some good minutes off the bench.

“We played with more energy and just kept bringing the pressure at Napoleon.”

Hesterman led all scorers with 12 points. Wyse scored 11 and Williams, 10.

Lindsay Ferguson led Napoleon (2-8) with 10.

The Cats grabbed 17 rebounds to Archbold’s 13, but committed 22 turnovers to the Streaks’ 17.

Archbold was 7-9 at the foul line; Napoleon was 7-8.
