The season ended for the Archbold volleyball team in the Division III sectional semifinals.
Fairview defeated the Blue Streaks 25-20, 17-25, 25-20, 25-21, Tuesday, Oct. 17, at Fairview.
The Apaches (16-4) went on to win the sectional title with a victory over Paulding, Saturday, Oct. 21.
Archbold bowed out with a 9-13 record.
“Tonight was a battle between two fairly equal teams,” said Jill Holdgreve, AHS head coach.
“I thought that there were times that we were strong with our passing, and it helped to control our game.
“We needed to be more consistent with our execution, and in close matches like this one tonight our inconsistency got the best of us.
“Fairview came in ready to battle, and they held their play constant throughout the match. When the match got close to the end their grit overpowered us.
“Our seniors have been dedicated to our program over the past six years. They worked hard for us on the court and in the classroom, and we appreciate them!
