The Archbold boys cross country team won its second straight Antwerp Invitational title, Saturday, Oct. 6.
The Streaks edged out the victory by one point, finishing with 80 points. Fairview took second with 81, and Ayersville was third with 86. Eleven teams participated.
Alex Hurst was the first Blue Streak to finish, placing ninth in 17 minutes, 44 seconds.
Zeb Frank was 11th in 18:10, and Matt Kinsman was 12th in 18:11. Ben Eggers was 22nd in 18:47.
Nathan Wachtmann was the last scoring runner for AHS, finishing 26th in 18:56.
Fairview’s Kyle Thomas won in 16:52.
Other AHS runners, their places and times: 27. Peter Schoenhals 19:01; 32. Tyson Helmke 19:09; 81. Brandon Bryan 22:29.
Tinora won the girls race with 36 points. Edgerton was second with 54, and Fairview was third with 96.
Archbold did not have enough runners to compete as a team.
Ellie Sonnenberg was 12th in 22:14, Tressa Parsley was 17th in 22:29, Taylor De- Wolfe was 25th in 23:30, and Demetria Martinez was 47th in 25:09.
Delta hosts the Northwest Ohio Athletic League cross country meet, Saturday, Oct. 13, beginning at 10 a.m.
Archbold is the defending boys champion, while Liberty Center has won the last three titles in the girls race.
