The Archbold boys soccer team captured a pair of wins last week, including a Northwest Ohio Athletic League contest, to run its record to 7-1-1, 2-0 NWOAL.
The Streaks defeated Swanton 11-0 and Maumee 4-2.
AHS 11, Swanton 0
It was an offensive barrage when Archbold, ranked seventh in Div. III by the Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association, traveled to Swanton (1-6-0), Tuesday, Sept. 12, for an NWOAL matchup.
Andrew Hogrefe started the scoring for the Streaks with a goal 4:50 into the game, and the Blue Streaks never let the foot off the pedal.
Denver Beck, Josh Kidder, Connor Hagans, and Clay Gerig scored for a 5-0 lead, and Elijah Zimmerman scored the final two goals of the first half for a 7-0 lead.
Kidder scored two more goals in the second half for a hat trick and a 9-0 lead.
Kaiden Bedsole and Ethan Hagans scored the final two goals for an 11-0 win.
Kidder and Trey Theobald each had a pair of assists, while Bedsole, C. Hagans and Chase Kohler each had one.
Archbold blasted 28 shots on goal while allowing only four Bulldog shots, which were all turned away by Blue Streak keeper Caleb Wooley.
AHS 4, Maumee 2
Archbold traveled to Maumee (3-3-3), Saturday, Sept. 16, for a non-league contest.
The Panthers jumped out first, scoring with 13:08 to play on a Braden Wagener goal.
The lead was short-lived. Kidder scored with an assist from Bedsole to tie the game at 1 with 11:38 left in the first half.
Theobald scored the goahead goal with 4:17 remaining in the half for a 2-1 lead.
In the second half, Maumee wasted little time scoring the equalizer on another Wagener goal with 38:55 on the clock.
Kidder broke the tie for good with a goal at the 35:14 mark. He added another goal with 3:14 later for a 4-2 lead which held up.
Kidder recorded the hat trick and assisted on one goal to lead the offense, which had 10 shots on goal.
Trevan Kindinger had one assist.
Wooley stopped four Maumee shots on goal.
The Archbold junior varsity was also victorious, 6-0.
