AHS Boys Soccer Opens Season With Shutout

Archbold opened the season with a non-league boys soccer showdown at Fort Jennings, Saturday, Aug. 19.

The Streaks out-shot the Musketeers 37-1 en route to a 7-0 victory.

Trey Theobald opened the scoring for Archbold six minutes into the game.

Kaiden Bedsole scored with 4:29 left in the first half for a 2-0 lead.

Archbold opened up the floodgates in the second half, scoring five times for the 7-0 final.

Bedsole scored two more goals in the second half to record a hat trick.

Josh Kidder, Daniel Nieves and Sonson Nafziger scored a goal each.

Andrew Hogrefe had a pair of assists for the Streaks.

Kidder, Theobald, Denver Beck and Clay Gerig each had one assist.

Goalie Caleb Wooley stopped the only shot of the day from the Musketeers to record the shutout.

The Archbold junior varsity also was victorious, 3-1.
