AHS Boys Soccer Gets Two Ties

The Archbold boys soccer team traveled to Fort Jennings, Saturday, Aug. 31, where the Streaks battled to a scoreless tie.

The Streaks hosted Riverdale, Saturday, Sept. 7, earning a 2-2 draw.

Archbold stands at 2-1-3 on the season.

AHS 0, Fort Jennings 0

Strong defensive efforts by both teams kept the scoreboard clean, with Archbold goalie Emerson Radabaugh stopping five shots on goal while Musketeer keeper Alex Vetter grabbed three.

Fort Jennings stands at 2-2-1.

The Archbold junior varsity also battled to a scoreless draw.

AHS 2, Riverdale 2

Senior midfielder Andrew Mayer put the Streaks ahead 12 minutes into the match after receiving a pass from senior midfielder Jannik Fritz.

Mayer fired from 12 yards on the right side into the left end of the net.

The Falcons answered 17 minutes later with a goal by Chad Pever, knotting the score at 1 going into halftime.

Archbold broke the deadlock with four minutes remaining when junior midfielder Matt Sevey was fouled in the penalty area. Sevey buried the resulting penalty kick, giving the Streaks a 2-1 lead.

Riverdale responded with only 1:39 remaining with a goal by Justin Riegle to salvage the tie.

The Streaks outshot Riverdale 8-5 with Radabaugh getting three saves while Falcon keeper Austin Clark had six.

Riverdale stands at 2-4-1.

The Archbold (4-0-1) JV defeated the Falcons 7-1. Kyle Ott chipped in two goals while Jared Kidder, Jackson Waidelich, Jesse Felix, Jack Fisher, and Elijah Robison also scored.
