AHS Boys Down Patriots, Pirates; Improve To 11-3

The Archbold boys basketball team improved to 11-3, 2-1 in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League with easy wins over Patrick Henry and Continental last weekend.

AHS 63, PHHS 23

Leading 13-8 at Patrick Henry after one quarter, Archbold went on a 21-1 tear in the second to lead 34-9 on its way to a 63-23 league victory, Friday, Jan. 26.

The Blue Streaks outscored the Patriots 29-14 in the second half, including 11-2 in the fourth quarter, for the win.

Kaiden Bedsole led AHS with 16 points, including four of the team’s nine threepointers. Rigo Ramos scored 15 points, including three treys.

Xavier Wensink led PHHS (5-9, 1-2 NWOAL), with eight.

The Patriots committed 17 turnovers to two for AHS. The Streaks grabbed 28 rebounds to 26 for PHHS.

AHS 71, Continental 29

Archbold hosted Continental, Saturday, Jan. 27, for what turned out to be another blowout.

AHS led 23-5 after one, 45-15 at the half, and 63-25 after three in the non-league contest.

Eleven Blue Streaks got in the scorebook, as Ramos led all players with 11 points.

Caleb Olds led the Pirates (1-14), with eight.

The Streaks were 25-44 from the field, including seven three-pointers, for 56% and 14-16 at the foul line for 87%.

Continental was 8-29 from the field, including four treys, for 27%, and 9-13 at the foul line for 69%.

The Pirates committed 17 turnovers to six for AHS. The Blue Streaks won the rebounding battle, 25-13.
