The Archbold boys cross country team finished fourth at the Division III District 1 meet at Ottawa, Saturday, Oct. 23.
The top four teams and individuals finishing in the top 16 advanced to the regional meet at Tiffin, Saturday, Oct. 30, 11:05 a.m.
The Streaks finished with 105 points. Delta won the district with 34 points. Liberty Center was second with 81, and Stryker took third with 98.
“We had the top five boys all run under 18 minutes, with our sixth and seventh runners close behind,” said Mike Wachtmann, AHS head coach.
“Most of them had personal bests.
“They ran very, very well. I was happy to see them execute our season plan.
“We will run even better at the regional meet at Tiffin as we peak our conditioning this week.”
Adrian Ramirez was Archbold’s top finisher. He placed 15th in 17 minutes, 23.5 seconds.
Alex Hurst was next, finishing 16th in 17:28. Bryce Tinsman was 20th in 17:42.8, while Nathan Wachtmann finished 25th in 17:52.3.
Ben Eggers finished the team scoring for AHS. He was 32nd in 17:59.7.
Other Blue Streak runners, their times and places: 33. Zeb Frank, 18:16.3; 43. Zach D’Alelio, 18:37.5.
Delta’s Colin Fisher won in 16:17.
In the girls race, Elise Sauder was 66th in 28:43.1, while Amanda Storrer was 67th in 29:40.1.
Edon’s Sabrina Brown won in 20:36.3.
“Elise and Amanda, two seniors, finished their high school career with hardfought races they should be proud of,” said Wachtmann.
