Archbold finished second in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League with a 7-1 record after defeating Swanton 10-0, Saturday, May 22, at Fifth Third Field in Toledo.
The Streaks finished the season with a 15-11 overall record.
“What a great way for our team to finish our season, and our seniors to finish their careers,” said Dick Selgo, AHS head coach.
“Playing at Fifth Third Field was a great experience for our players, and winning the game gave us sole possession of second place in the NWOAL. I’m proud of the way this team competed this year.”
The Streaks scored one run in the second and four in the third for a 5-0 lead after three. A run in the fourth upped the score to 6-0, and two runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings gave AHS the 10-0 victory.
Corey Wyse (4-1) pitched the one-hit shutout for AHS.
The Streaks had 12 hits, and were led by Aaron Bontrager, who went 2-3 with a triple and three runs batted in. Zac Grosjean was 2-4 with two RBIs. Tanner Wyse and C. Wyse were each 2-3 with one RBI, and Sam Miller was 2-4.
