The Archbold baseball team picked up a Northwest Ohio Athletic League win over Evergreen but dropped its first two games of the season in a doubleheader to Perrysburg to stand 9-2 on the season.

Perrysburg pounded out 14 hits in the first game of a doubleheader, Saturday, April 20 at Memorial Park to hand the Streaks their first loss of the season, 17-8.
Zach Short (1-1) suffered the loss on the mound. In 1 2/3 innings he gave up six runs on two hits, struck out none, and walked four.
Archbold put together nine hits. Jase Grosjean smacked a double; Zac Zimmerman, two singles; Micah Bernath, three singles and two runs batted in; and Jacob Wagner, a double.
The Streaks fared no better in the nightcap, losing 18-4.
Perrysburg (9-1) blasted 15 hits to Archbold’s eight.
Tyson Schnitkey (2-1) suffered the loss on the mound, giving up nine runs on seven hits, striking out three and walking five in three innings.
At the plate, Wagner had two doubles. Schnitkey and Michael Walker each had two singles, and Walker had two RBIs.
AHS 2, Evergreen 1
The Streaks traveled to Evergreen on Monday, April 15, to face the Vikings in an NWOAL matchup.
After 11 innings the game was suspended due to darkness.
After seven scoreless innings the Streaks took a 1-0 lead in the top of the eighth as Michael Walker’s single drove in Taylor Price.
The Vikings (4-3, 1-1 NWOAL) knotted the score at 1 in the bottom of the eighth on a Blue Streak error.
The game resumed on Wednesday, April 17. Bernath hit an RBI single in the top of the 12th, driving home the winning run.
Price picked up the win on the mound for AHS, which raised its NWOAL record to 3-0. In two innings he gave up no runs, no hits, no walks, and struck out five.
Archbold recorded five hits. Price led the way with two singles.
