A team from the Archbold Evangelical Church won the Fellowship of Evangelical Churches Winter Quiz-Off Tournament, in Morton, Ill., Saturday, March 6.

Winning team members were Stephen Diller, Marek Kreiner, Kaiden Keiser, Zoe Arend, and Kyra Kreiner. They brought home a traveling trophy for their efforts.

Five AEC teams traveled to the event– three high school and two junior high.

Abbey Nafziger, coach, said each team quizzed four times.

There are three quiz-off competitions among 12-15 FEC Midwest Region churches each year, in the fall, winter, and spring.

For the winter tournament, all questions were from Matthew, chapters 13-21.

A quizmaster read one of several types of questions, ranging from general knowledge to asking quizzers to finish bible verses. Teams are awarded points based on correct answers, plus bonus points.

Points are subtracted for incorrect answers.

Nafziger said, “Our AEC students studied week in and week out with Sunday evening practices leading up to the quiz-off.

“This ministry is not one bit about the competition or winning, but about God’s Word being stored in our hearts, which is leaving an eternal impact on us and those around us.”
