Kalida exploded for 16 runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings on its way to a 16-2 Acme baseball win over Archbold, Wednesday, June 3, at Archbold.

It was the season opener for both. The “official” Acme season was cancelled, but with the announcement of Mike DeWine, Ohio governor, that non-contact sports such as baseball and softball could begin May 26, as long as guidelines were followed.

But the season will still be referred to as Acme baseball, because it’s the terminology everyone is used to.

There will also be no official tournament at the end of the season.

Against Kalida, the Streaks scored single runs in the first two innings but were unable to score any more.

Zane Behnfeldt was the losing pitcher.

Archbold recorded three hits. Dawson Liechty had a double, while Noah Garcia had a run-batted-in single to lead the Streaks.
