The Archbold Acme baseball team finished as runner up of the North sectional tournament, Monday, July 8.

Both the sectional champion and runner-up advance to the district tournament at Patrick Henry, July 12-15.

Archbold 7, Tinora 2

In the opening round, Friday, July 5, at Archbold, the Streaks defeated Tinora 7-2.

Ethan Hagans was the winning pitcher. In 4 2/3 innings he allowed five hits and struck out four.

At the plate: Brandon Taylor, 3-4 with two singles and a double; Dawson Liechty, 2- 3 with two singles.

Napoleon 3, Archbold 2

Napoleon defeated Archbold 3-2 in the second round, Saturday, July 6, at Napoleon.

Taylor was the losing pitcher. In four innings he allowed two runs on four hits and struck out four.

At the plate: Zane Behnfeldt, 2-3 with two singles; Adam Walker, 2-2 with a single and a double.

Archbold 3, Tinora 1

Dropping to the consolation bracket of the double elimination tournament, the Streaks (10-5) defeated Tinora 3-1, Sunday, July 7, at Wauseon.

DJ Newman was the winning pitcher. In seven innings he allowed one run on three hits and struck out five.

At the plate: Taylor, 2-4 with a single and a double; Drake Mohring, 3-4 with three singles.

Archbold 12, Napoleon 1

Archbold (11-5) defeated Napoleon 12-1 in the finals of the consolation bracket, Monday, July 8, to finish as sectional runner-up. Jaybe Burkle got the win on the mound.

The Streaks advance to the double elimination district tournament at Patrick Henry, Friday, July 12, 4 pm. They play Ottawa-Glandorf in the first round.

The winner advances to the second round game, Saturday, July 13, 12 pm; the loser plays Saturday, July 13, 2:30 pm.
