Archbold is 8-3 in Acme baseball action as the team gets ready for tournament.

Archbold 2, Tinora 1

Archbold defeated Tinora 2-1, Monday, June 17, at Tinora.

DJ Newman pitched a complete game. In seven innings he allowed one earned run on four hits and struck out five.

At the plate: Drake Mohring and Dawson Liechty each had a hit.

Archbold 17, Napoleon 3

The Streaks defeated Napoleon 17-3, Tuesday, June 18, at Napoleon.

Ethan Hagans was the winning pitcher. In three innings he allowed one earned run on two hits and struck out three.

At the plate: Newman, Brandon Taylor, and Noah Hogrefe each had two hits.

Bryan 9, Archbold 3

Archbold 4, Bellefontaine 1

Archbold hosted a doubleheader with Bryan and Bellefontaine, Friday, June 21.

The Bears beat the Streaks 9-3 in the first game.

Hagans was the losing pitcher. In 5 2/3 innings he allowed seven earned runs on nine hits and struck out two.

At the plate: Newman, Taylor, Mohring, and Kobe Kennedy each had a hit.

In the second contest, the Streaks defeated Bellefontaine 4-1.

Taylor was the winning pitcher. In six innings he allowed no runs on four hits and struck out three.

At the plate: Newman and Mohring both had two hits. Chase Kohler and Kennedy each had one hit.

Bryan 6, Archbold 4 8 innings

Archbold hosted Bryan, Monday, June 24. The game went to eight innings as the Bears won 6-4.

Taylor was the losing pitcher. In 7 1/3 innings he allowed six runs on six hits and struck out six.

At the plate: Mohring had two hits. Taylor, Noah Garcia, and Liechty each had one hit.

Archbold 16, Delta 2

Archbold came back with a 16-2 win over the Panthers, Tuesday, June 25, at Memorial Park.

 

 

Jaybe Burkle was the winning pitcher. In three innings he allowed one run on two hits and struck out three.

At the plate: Garcia and Zane Behnfeldt each had three hits. Taylor, Mohring, Liechty, and Kennedy each had a pair of hits.

Bryan 7, Archbold 4

Archbold traveled to Bryan, Thursday, June 27, and came home with a 7-4 loss.

Hagans was the losing pitcher. In six innings he allowed seven runs on eight hits and struck out three.

At the plate: Newman and Garcia each had a pair of hits.

Sectional Tournament

Archbold hosts Tinora, Friday, July 5, 6 pm, top open District 2 sectional tournament play, which is played in a double elimination format.

The winner plays Napoleon, Saturday, July 6, 12:30 pm, at Napoleon.

Saturday winners advance to the sectional championship game, Sunday, July 7, 2 pm, at Wauseon.

Friday’s loser plays Saturday, July 6, 1:30 pm, in the loser’s bracket at Wauseon. The winner plays Sunday, July 7, 5 pm, at Wauseon.

Sunday’s winner plays for the runner-up spot, Monday, July 8, 6 pm, at Napoleon.

Both the sectional champion and runner-up advance to the district tournament at Patrick Henry, July 12-15.
