The Archbold Acme team won the North sectional championship, Monday, July 9 behind the pitching of Tyson Dietrich’s two-hit shutout.

Dietrich was dominant, striking out four and allowing only one runner to reach second base.

The Streaks defeated Napoleon 3-0 to claim the title and the first seed in the district tournament last weekend in Archbold.

Archbold (19-5) wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. Leadoff hitter Jase Grosjean hit a single, moved to second on a wild pitch, advanced to third on a fielders choice, and scored on Evan Wyse’s fielders choice.

Wyse again had a big night at the plate, going 3-4 with a double, two singles and two runs batted in.

The Streaks struck again in the third. Taylor Price reached base on an error, and was sacrificed to second by Matt Sevey’s bunt. Michael Walker’s double plated Price, and Walker later scored on Wyse’s double.

Dietrich, Micah Bernath, and Jacob Wagner all had singles.
