Pettisville and Archbold advanced to the district ACME tournament with wins in the Fulton County Sectional last week.

In regular-season action, Archbold beat Liberty Center 13-4, Thursday, June 26. Corey Walker was the winning pitcher.

Archbold defeated Montpelier 10-2 and 15-3 in a doubleheader, Monday, June 30.

Paxson Miller was the winning pitcher in the opener. He allowed five hits, struck out four, and walked one. Trey Westrick was 3-3 at the plate.

In the nightcap, Westrick was the winning pitcher. He allowed five hits, struck out one, and walked two. David Dominique was 3-3 at the plate.

Archbold (12-4) is undefeated at 5-0 in the Fulton County League.

Second-seeded Pettisville took a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Delta scored one run in the third, but Pettisville scored seven runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings for the win.

Quinn Nofziger was the winning pitcher. In six innings he allowed one run on four hits, struck out three, and walked none.

He also led Pettisville at the plate, going 4-4 including a double and two runs batted in. Phillip Roth was 3-4 including an RBI double. Harris King was 2-4, including a home run and two RBIs. Jordan Klopfenstein hit a triple and had two RBIs. Zane Miller was 2-4 with an RBI.

Top-seeded Archbold scored single runs in the first four innings for a 4-0 lead and extended it to 6-0 with two runs in the fifth. Swanton scored a run in the sixth for the 6-1 final.

Steven Kinsman was the winning pitcher. In six innings he allowed one run on two hits, struck out one, and walked one. P. Miller pitched in relief.

Westrick was 4-4 at the plate including a double and an RBI. David Rupp was 2-3 including a double and an RBI. Dominique was 2-3 with one RBI. Kinsman hit an RBI triple.

Pettisville 6, Archbold 2

Pettisville led 3-2 after two innings. Pettisville extended its lead to 4-2 with a run in the sixth and scored two more in the seventh for the victory.

Jordan Klopfenstein was the winning pitcher. In one inning he allowed two runs on two hits, struck out none and walked two. Nofziger pitched 2/3 of an inning and struck out one. Z. Miller pitched 5 1/3 innings and allowed five hits, struck out three and walked one.

Rupp was the losing pitcher. He allowed three runs on five hits, struck out 15, and walked seven. P. Miller pitched two innings and allowed three runs on five hits and walked two.

Z. Miller led Pettisville at the plate, going 3-4. Nofziger was 2-4 including a triple and two RBIs. Clay Norris was 2-5 with three RBIs.

Westrick was 2-4 at the plate for Archbold.

Archbold scored a run in the second inning and led 1-0 until the fifth inning. Archbold scored three runs in each of the fifth and sixth innings for the 7-0 final.

Kinsman was the winning pitcher. In six innings he allowed five hits, struck out two, and walked two. P. Miller pitched in relief.

Corey Wyse was 2-3 at the plate with one RBI. Tyler Bernath was 2-4 and Kinsman, 1-3 with two RBIs.

Championship July 6

Pettisville 3, Archbold 2

Pettisville led 1-0 after the first inning. Archbold took a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the third, but Pettisville came back to score two runs in the top of the fourth for the 3-2 victory.

Klopfenstein was the winning pitcher. He allowed two runs on two hits, struck out two, and walked three in five innings.

Corey Walker was the losing pitcher. In seven innings he allowed three runs on five hits, struck out three, and walked four.

Getting hits for Pettisville were Norris, Nofziger, Jacob Rupp, Taylor Short, and Z. Miller.

P. Miller and Collin Walker had Archbold’s two hits.

Both play today, Wednesday, in the Defiance district. Pettisville plays at 5:30 p.m.; Archbold plays at 8 p.m.
