150th Fulton County Fair Maintains Reputation

Months of planning and preparing for the important 150th anniversary of the Fulton County Fair paid big dividends. There were some hot, humid days during the week and swarms of mosquitoes the last few days, but it didn’t keep people from visiting the fairgrounds north of Wauseon.

New attendance records were set for several days. See the numbers on the front page of this newspaper.

Fair board members were exhausted by the final day. They worked endlessly before the fair opened to make it an outstanding event.

The fair truly is something every county citizen can enjoy and be proud of. It is a mix of so many exceptional things: displays, contests, shows, foods, and entertainment.

Students of all ages take part in 4- H, FFA and individual events that are judged by women and men from around the state and out-of-state.

Members of the junior fair board that oversee 4-H, FFA, and all youth activities are also an important part of the successful fair. Junior fair board members carry a heavy load of responsibility just like the senior fair board.

Fair board members prepare year around for the successful fair. September is the first month of their 12-month planning period for the next fair!
