Herman Eugene Kauffman

Herman Kauffman Herman Kauffman Herman Eugene Kauffman, 93, passed away, Monday, July 2, 2018, at Fairlawn Haven, in Archbold, to join the love of his life, Kathryn ( Lederman) Kauffman, his wife of 72 years before she passed away in 2017.

Herman was the youngest in the family of Noah S. and Katie (Burkholder) Kauffman, born Aug., 12, 1924.

Herman’s parents and siblings all predeceased him. Two sisters-in-law survive, Loveda Liechty and Zelma Kauffman.

Herman attended Pettisville School, and later farmed his home place for most of his life.

Milking cows, driving school bus for many years and being a courier for the Farmers & Merchants State Bank of Archbold were good times for him, along with singing in the men’s chorus.

Herman and Kathryn were blessed with five children who survive: Janice Andrews of South Bend, Ind.; Phillip (Barbara Britsch) of Carrollton, Ga.; Jane (Ron) Yoder of Wolcottville, Ind.; Steven (Jennifer Lawrence) of Archbold; and Debra (Jack Young) Kauffman of Pettisville.

Herman and Kathryn have been admired as Christian role models by their 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Both faithfully served the Lord and were lifetime members of Central Mennonite Church, Archbold.

Interment was at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 7, at the Pettisville Cemetary. The service was held at 3 p.m., Saturday, July 7, at West Clinton Mennonite Church, 18029 Co. Rd. C, Wauseon, OH 43567 with Pastor David Elkins and Pastor Regina Wenger officiating.
