Jury Recommends Death For Worley


James Worley James Worley A Fulton County jury has recommended James Worley be put to death.

Worley, 58, rural Delta, was convicted of aggravated murder and other crimes for killing Sierah Joughin, 20, Metamora, in July 2016.

The jury returned guilty verdicts on Tuesday, March 20.

In the penalty phase of the trial, the jury deliberated for about six hours before returning their death penalty recommendation, Wednesday, April 4.

Jeffrey Robinson, Fulton County Common Pleas Court judge, sentences Worley on Wednesday, April 18.

He can follow the jury recommendation and sentence Worley to death; life without parole; or life with the possibility of parole in 25 or 30 years.
