Streaks Stop Eastwood For Fifth Win

The Streaks (5-2) were down 14-8 in the first quarter but battled back to take a 20- 17 lead entering the second.

After a Caleb Wooley bucket opened the second, Eastwood (2-2) scored the next four points to pull within one, 22-21.

Archbold went on a 13-4 scoring run over the final four minutes of the period to take a 35-25 lead into the half.

A Bryce Williams layup and a Rigo Ramos threepointer started the third for a 40-25 lead.

Eastwood scored the next five points to get back to within 10, 40-30, with 4:53 left in the quarter.

Archbold finished the quarter with a 12-7 scoring advantage for a 52-37 lead.

Eli Miller caused a turnover on a steal and went the distance for a layup to push the lead to 57-39.

Eastwood closed the gap to 57-43, but Williams scored a traditional three-pointer for a 60-43 advantage.

A three-pointer put the Eagles down by 14 points, 60-46, but Archbold went on a 10-5 run over the final 4:11 for the 70-51 victory.

Four Archbold players scored in double figures, led by Ramos with 16 points, including three of the Streaks’ four three-pointers.

Williams scored 14, while Miller and Austin Wiemken tallied 11 points each.

Tyler Haas led the Eagles with 14 points. Cory Coffman added 12, including three of the team’s six treys.

The Streaks won the rebounding battle, 24-20. Eastwood committed 19 turnovers to nine for AHS.
