Horning Joins 200-Win Club

In his 12th year as head coach, Horning has compiled a record of 200-77 and a BBC record of 102-15, according to Brian Leppelmeier, PHS athletic director.

During Horning’s tenure, the Birds have won six BBC titles, eight sectional championships, one district championship, and have been district runners-up three times.

“I have been really blessed to have coaches, players, a school and community who have supported our volleyball program,” said Horning.

“We have had some really good years where girls were committed to push themselves and get better on a daily basis.

“Coaching is a whole family commitment, as Rachel’s and our three sons’ support have been incredible and very important to me. I am very blessed and humbled by this accomplishment.”

Serving: Kyra Behnfeldt 10-11; Kendal Pursel 10-12; Jess Youse 14- 14, 4 aces; Morgan Leppelmeier 8- 10; Mauricea Crouch 16-18, 2 aces. Team: 63-72. 8 aces.
