The Streaks last won the boys title in 2014, when it was their sixth straight.

The last time the AHS girls team won was in 2013.

The Blue Streak boys won with 121 points. Wauseon was second with 95, and Liberty Center took third with 93.

The AHS girls team captured first place with 128 points. Wauseon, which won three straight NWOAL titles, was second with 83, and Swanton was third with 79.

Archbold finished with 13 individual league championships.

For the boys, Jack Fisher defended his title in the 400- meter dash and Deven Girdham captured the 110-meter and 300 hurdles.

The pair, along with Noah Blankenship and Sam Petersen, defended Archbold’s title in the 4x400-meter relay.

The team of Petersen, Blankenship, Kegan Ott, and Clay Gerig won the 4x200.

In the girls championships, Emily Roth defended her title in the long jump and Sydney Ranzau defended her title in the pole vault.

Dakota Stamm won the 400 in a meet-record time of 58.05 seconds, breaking the old record of 58.6 set in 1984 by Delta’s Linda Callahan.

Lexa Richardson won the title in the 100 hurdles, and Gwynne Riley won the 800.

The Streaks won three of four relays. The team of Stamm, Kennedy Miller, Morgan Miller, and Riley won the 4x800.

The team of Emie Peterson, Roth, Riley, and Stamm won the 4x200; and the team of Julia Lambert, M. Miller, Riley and Stamm won the 4x400. It was Archbold’s fifth straight titles in the two events.

“Words can’t describe how excited and proud of our athletes I am,” said Dina Gladieux.

“The week leading up to the league meet, the kids question how I place them in their events.

“I always have to reassure them the league meet is about winning as a team and how to get the most points possible.

“This week, everything changes and it’s about how do we get as many as we can to the state level of competition.

“Friday was lots of fun, but we still have a lot of work to do to get as many as possible to state in three weeks, and that’s where our focus is now.

“As I said earlier I am extremely proud of what all of our athletes did both in the field events and in the running events.”
