Wauseon Man Sentenced

A Wauseon man was sentenced Wednesday, May 10, in Fulton County Common Pleas Court:

Randy Ames, 62; originally indicted Feb. 13 on one count each, operating a vehicle while intoxicated, improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle; entered guilty pleas to misdemeanor operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, felony improperly handling firearms; on Jan. 24, drove his vehicle into a home while under the influence of alcohol, had two loaded handguns in vehicle; sentenced to 180 days at the Corrections Commission of Northwest Ohio, jail sentence suspended; placed on two years community control, fined $375; ordered to complete three-day driver intervention program, forfeit firearms to state for destruction, pay towing and storage fees; driver license suspended for six months. Failure to comply could result in six-month prison sentence.
