Dorothy Lorraine (Snyder) Hill


Dorothy Hill Dorothy Hill Dorothy Lorraine (Snyder) Hill, age 86, of Napoleon, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at Ohio Living Sarah Moore Home in Delaware, Ohio.

She was born April 17, 1931, in Fulton County, to the late George and Clara Mills Snyder.

A homemaker and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, she was a retired associate of Form Tool in Archbold.

She was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon, and also served as a hospice volunteer with Hospice of Henry County.

A 1949 graduate of Ai High School, she enjoyed cooking and gardening. She especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin G. Hill, whom she married June 30, 1951; a grandson, Tariq Lashari; a granddaughter, Kristi Hill; her siblings, Anna Mary Stoll, Robert Snyder, Donald Snyder, Ruth Griffin and Franklin Snyder.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Lashari of Sugar Land, Texas and Brenda (Paul) Crosby of Ann Arbor, Mich.; a son, Terry L. (Melissa) Hill of Powell; eight grandchildren, Noreen (Brian) Stewart, Marissa Lashari, Eric (Christina) Crosby, Justin Crosby, Amanda (Brian) Boyd, Wesley Hill, Megan Kaspar and Matthew Kaspar; six great-grandchildren, Haley, Addison, Kayle, Emily, Matthew and Sara; her siblings, Helen (Walter) Desgranges, Betty (Bob) Carter, Gerald (Florence) Snyder, Marguerite Lueke and Paul Snyder; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, May 25, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Napoleon, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Rev. Peter Marcis will officiate, and burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in Napoleon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Henry County Senior Center or St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Rodenberger Funeral Home in Napoleon and Underwood Funeral Home in Marysville are assisting the family.
