Railroad Contractor Knocks Out Power

A contractor working on the Norfolk Southern tracks through Archbold Tuesday, April 11, caused a power outage that impacted 1,971 Toledo Edison customers.

Chris Eck, a TE spokesman, said the contractor snapped a guy wire of a utility pole.

The guy wire wrapped itself around one of the wires of a primary electrical circuit from the Archbold TE substation, knocking out power to the north side of the village.

Eck said the power went out about 4:32 pm. Service was restored at 5:24 pm, with the total outage lasting about 52 minutes.
