Greatest Population Growth From 1950-1960

Archbold experienced its greatest growth between 1950 and 1960 when the population increased from 1,487 to 2,348, an increase of 861, or 58%.

The increase was due in part to the annexation of Lugbill addition to the southwest corner of the village.

There was also a large increase between 1990 and 2000. Between those years, population jumped by 850, or about 25%, from 3,440 to 4,290.

It is believed several new areas of housing in the village including North Pointe Estates, Fox Chase manufactured housing complex, new units at Fairlawn Haven, and the Deardorf complex on Lutz Road were opened.
