Fair Attendance Down 5,555

The Fulton County Fair Board announced that attendance at the 2015 Fulton County Fair was 285,794, down from the two preceding years.

In 2013, the seven-day attendance figure announced by the fair board was 298,346, the highest recorded.

In 2014, attendance was announced as 291,349.

The figure for 2015 is 5,555, or about 1.9%, less than 2014, and 12,552, or roughly 4.2%, less than the record year of 2013.

The 2015 estimated attendance is up between 1.2% and 24.8% over previous totals from 2000-2012.

Amy Ambrose, spokesman for the fair board, said the board is not releasing daily attendance figures for 2015, something the board has done for decades.

When asked why the board declined to release the daily figures, she said that was the decision of the board.

Last year, the Archbold Buckeye published articles questioning how the fair board determines attendance figures.
