AHS Tennis Falls To 2-6-1 With Two Losses

Wauseon 4, AHS 1

Singles: 1. Tyler Shipley (W) def. Jannik Fritz 6-3, 6-4. 2. Alex Wenger (W) def. Jereme Rupp 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. 2. Levi Rees (W) def. Lucas Rupp 6-2, 6-3.

Doubles: 1. Fernando Canales and Zach Spadafore (W) def. Jesse Felix and Levi Strawn 6-2, 4-6, 6- 1. 2. Riley Krueger and Alex Short (A) def. Colin Tedrow and Derek Zimmerman 6-2, 6-3.

Bryan 4, AHS 1

Singles: 1. Derek Vincent (B) def. Felix 6-0, 6-2. 2. Zach Bauer (B) def. Strawn 6-3, 6-3. 3. Nathan Lamore (B) def. Rupp 6-2, 6-0.

Doubles: 1. Rupp and Fritz (A) def. Drew Karbman and Eliot Pitman 7-5, 7-6 (7-5). 2. Scott Ewanus and Nolan Quigley (B) def. Alex Short and Riley Krueger 6-2, 6-2.

Sectional

The Streaks play in the Division II sectional tournament at Defiance College, Thursday, May 15, and Saturday, May 17.

Other schools at the DC sectional include Ayersville, Bryan, Defiance, Maumee, Maumee Valley Country Day, Napoleon, Ottawa Hills, Rossford, and Wauseon.

The top four singles and four doubles teams advance to the district at Bowling Green State University, Wednesday, May 21, and Saturday, May 24.
