Collegiate Connection

Trisha King, AHS ‘11 and a student at Trine University, Angola, Ind., placed fifth in the 800-meter run at the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III Indoor Track and Field National Championships, which concluded Saturday, March 15, in Lincoln, Neb.

She ran the race in two minutes, 13.51 seconds.

She also set a school record in the preliminaries on Friday, March 14.

King, the daughter of Pete and Luana, broke her own school record by over a second with a time of 2:12.26 to qualify for the National Championship race.

The performance was good enough to earn King All-American status for the first-time in her Thunder career.

She placed second in her heat of the preliminary.
