Four Injured In Thursday Crash

A Defiance woman was hospitalized in serious condition as of Friday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 6 and Henry Co. Rd. 24 about 1:55 pm, Thursday, Feb. 7.

The Henry County Sheriff Department crash report states Joseph Fleming, 18, Defiance, was driving a pickup north on Co. Rd. 24, with passenger Raul Garcia, 28, Defiance.

At the same time, a sport-utility vehicle, driven by Saundra L. Grieser, 75, rural Defiance, with passenger Kennard F. Grieser. 72, same address, was traveling west on U.S. 6.

The report states the pickup failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with the SUV.

The Grieser SUV then rolled over twice, before coming to rest on its wheels.

Fleming and Garcia were taken by Ridgeville Rescue to the Defiance Regional Medical Center, where both were treated and released.

Kennard Grieser was transported by Archbold Rescue to Community Hospitals & Wellness Center-Bryan, where he was treated and released.

Saundra Grieser was also taken to CHWC­-Bryan by Archbold Rescue. She was treated at CHWC, then transferred to Toledo Hospital, where her condition was listed as serious.

HCSD deputies issued Fleming a citation for failure to stop for a posted stop sign.-Updated 2.8, 2:16 pm
