Man Who Says Police Won’t Do Anything Faces Charge
A Bryan man who told friends, “the police won’t do anything” learned the hard way that in fact, they do.
Benito Diaz, 22, Bryan, received a summons to appear in Western District Court after he was involved in an incident in the 100 block of Grassy Lane about 2:37 am, Saturday, May 19.
Police received a complaint of loud music at 118 Grassy Lane, which is part of an apartment complex off High Street in the northeastern quadrant.
The police report states as officers approached the complex, they spotted 10 individuals standing outside in the driveway.
“I observed a male subject yell, ‘woo hoo, party on’ in a very loud voice,” the officer states in the report.
“I heard him tell someone, ‘the cops won’t do anything.’”
After identifying the male subject as Diaz, Diaz said both the music and trains passing nearby were louder than he was.
Despite his protests, Diaz received a summons to appear on a charge of disorderly conduct.
