Library Board Holds Closed Door Session

The Archbold Community Library Board met behind closed doors for about 20 minutes during its Wednesday, Jan. 18 meeting.

The board was scheduled to discuss two issues during the closed-door session.

One was a change in the employee health insurance program.

In her written report to the board, Joyce Klingelsmith, library director, said the health insurance company the library uses discontinued its plan that featured a $1,500 deductible and a Health Savings Account, or HSA. The lowest deductible is now $2,500, which will save the board about $5,500 per year in premiums.

After returning to regular session, the board approved a health insurance policy change, and voted to increase the library contribution to individual employee HSAs by $25 per month.

The board also voted in regular session to change the library policy for calculating employee sick time to make the calculation more streamlined.
