Teams And Fans Have Fun At Second Bible Quiz Meet
Quizzers knew the teams with the best crowd spirit would be chosen for fun closing activities. Fans were prepared with creative cheers, pom-poms, puppets, noisemakers and posters.
With all the fan support, staffs had a hard time choosing just three of the 17 teams.
As a fun ending, teams and fans from Zion, Eastland Baptist and Sonrise competed to see who could eat a whole loaf of bread the fastest, and, “Let nothing be wasted.” (John 6:12b)
The meet also featured mixed team quizzing as youth from different churches quizzed as teams for one or two matches.
The highest-scoring team in the older division was Hannah Short, Zion; Claire Waidelich, West Clinton; Victor Arend, and Katie Keesbury, Sonrise; and Nikki Fetterman, Tedrow, with 115 points.
The top team in the middle grouping was Melissa Kinkaid, Lockport; Brooke Waidelich, West Clinton; Aaron Zimmerman, Zion; and Troy Grime, North Clinton, who averaged 95 points.
In the youngest grouping, averaging 93 in their matches, was a team comprised of Josh Kuhn, Eastland Baptist; Lynne Stuckey, Stryker Baptist; Caity Karnes and Paige Johnson, Sonrise; and Therin Smith, Central.
In regular-season matches, Lockport teams finished first and second. “Single” averaged 170 points in two matches with Hope Nofziger, Melissa Kinkaid, Ryan King, Isaac Dahl and Madalyn Roth.
“Plotted Against,” with Cara Foor, Hannah Groeneweg, Tony King, and Caleb Short, averaged 152 in three matches.
West Clinton’s “Thieves and Robbers” finished third with an average of 135 points in two matches. Members are Shelby Miller, Brooke and Claire Waidelich, Kathryn Roth and John Rufenacht.
Tying for fourth with 123 pointswas“AmIAJew” from Zion and “Miraculous” fromSonrise. “AmIAJew” has Ben and Zach Zimmerman, Hannah and Cameron Short, and Nathan Yoder. “Miraculous” members are Victor Arend, Casen Culler, Carly and Eme Sprow and Emily Trent.
