OG Titans Throttle Blue Streaks 36-19
Archbold closed out the 2011 portion of the boys basketball season by traveling to Ottawa-Glandorf to take on the always-tough Titans, Tuesday, Dec. 27.
The Titans outscored the Streaks 12-2 in the final eight minutes to win their fifth game of the season, 36-19.
With the loss Archbold slips to 5-2. OG also has just two losses in the young season.
The last time AHS scored fewer than 20 points was Feb. 14, 2009, when the Streaks lost to Tinora 48-17.
A low-scoring contest had the Streaks up 8-7 after the first period, but they trailed 15-12 at the half.
OG took the third stanza 9-5 and held Archbold to just two points in the final eight minutes while scoring 12 for the 36-19 final.
OG was led by T.J Metzger with 11 points.
Archbold’s Luke Kammeyer, who scored 19 points against Stryker and 12 against Pettisville, was held to five points– a field goal and three free throws.
Zeb Frank also tossed in five points.
OG won the rebounding battle 24-18. The Titans were 11-15 from the foul line, while Archbold was 3- 10.
