Fred M. McSurley, 43, Holland, Ohio, was found guilty by a Fulton County Common Pleas Court jury on a felony charge of burglary on Friday, Oct. 7.

He had been indicted after breaking into a Swanton home on Jan. 27.

Eight men and four women deliberated for four hours before returning a verdict.

McSurley’s bond was continued, and a pre-sentence investigation was ordered. No sentencing date was set. McSurley could face up to 18 months in prison.

The conviction was a result of a Swanton Police Department investigation.
