Honor Student

Bryce Winzeler, Archbold, was named to the dean’s list for the summer quarter at Ohio State University, Columbus.

Also named were Storm Humbert and Brittany Seiler, Fayette.

Students must earn at least a 3.5 gpa to qualify.


The first baseball game using modern rules, written and developed by New York bank teller Alexander Cartwright, was played in 1845. Prior to that time, fielders would throw the ball at baserunners to get them out.


The first optical fibers were produced by Narinder Kapary of London in 1955.
