9-11 Memorial Comes To Fairgrounds

Ten years ago, on Sept. 11, 2001, the New York City World Trade Center Towers came crashing down with a horrendous roar and a choking cloud of dust that enveloped the earth.

It fell victim to a madman, who perverted one of the world’s great religions.

That same day, there was an attack on the Pentagon and a plane crash in Pennsylvania– the one attack that was foiled.

People in Fulton County and across the world were emotionally crushed by the incident. The heinous act will live in our minds forever.

The knives thrust at New York City, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania sliced an unforgettable gash across America, from the east coast to the west coast.

It’s fitting that a small piece of debris from the World Trade Center will become a memorial here in middle America, in Wauseon at the Fulton County Fairgrounds.

It will be a place where one can refl ect on what happened, what it has taken to recover, and the price we continue to pay for our freedom.
