Ruralogic Gets State Tax Credits
Wyse: One More Step In Developing Info Tech Firm
      Ruralogic, a start-up information technology firm that could provide as many as 500 new jobs in Northwest Ohio, cleared another hurdle Monday, receiving State of Ohio tax credits. State officials announced Monday that the Ohio Tax Credit Authority approved job creation tax credits for three Ruralogic operations, along with 11 other Ohio businesses.

Kathy Rupp Approved As Finance Director
      Kathy Rupp, acting fi- nance director, gets to drop the word “acting” from her title. Archbold Village Council approved her for the position; the promotion becomes official Sunday, Aug. 1. With the promotion comes a $1,000 raise, bringing Rupp’s annual salary to $45,000.

Friday Night Tornado Sirens, A Judgment Call
      Justin Thompson, Fulton County emergency management director, said the county tornado sirens sounded about 9:30 pm, Friday, July 23, based on the observations of a Fulton County sheriff deputy. “Out at Co. Rd. C by the Wauseon Reservoir, one of the deputies spotted what he thought was rotation” in the clouds.

      The home formerly known as “Smelly House,” 210 Wilson Street, has been repaired and is on the market, said Oscar Hernandez, Fulton County Health Department sanitarian. Three separate real estate web sites list the asking price as $44,900.

Compromise Keeps Animal Rights Issue Off Ballot
      A deal brokered by Ted Strickland, Ohio governor, will keep a measure demanding stricter standards for the treatment of farm animals off the ballot. The arrangement between Ohioans for Humane Farms, a coalition of animals rights groups including the Humane Society of the United States, and agriculture interests was agreed to on Wednesday, June 30.

School Board Okays Wind Turbine Action
      The Archbold Area School Board passed a resolution at its Monday, July 19 meeting stating it intends to obtain “bridge funding” of up to $1,075,000 for the construction of a wind turbine.
