AHS Girls Up Record To 15-1 With Victories Over Holgate, Patriots
      Archbold jumped out to a 17-8 first-quarter lead over Patrick Henry and held off the Patriots for a 49-42 Northwest Ohio Athletic League girls basketball victory, Thursday, Jan. 28. The Streaks were on the road at Holgate, Saturday, Jan. 30. Archbold led 25-23 at the half and defeated the Tigers 53-48 in non-league action.

Streaks Topple Bulldogs In Overtime
      Sometimes in sports there’s one team that gives you fits. For Defiance, that team could very well be Archbold. The Streaks (11-3) made the trek to Defiance, Tuesday, Jan. 26, to face what looked like, at least on paper, one of the better Bulldog boys basketball squads they’ve faced.

Three Hit Double Digits In Victory Over Patriots
      The Archbold boys basketball team (12-3, 4-1 NWOAL) traveled to Patrick Henry (1- 10, 1-4 NWOAL), Friday Jan. 29, for an NWOAL matchup. The Streaks prevailed 53- 31. Garrett Morton and Collin Walker tallied 13 points each. Christian Goering chipped in 11.

Div. III Wrestling Sectional At Archbold
      The Division III sectional wrestling meet at Archbold High School is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 19 and Saturday, Feb. 20. The first session starts Friday at 5 p.m. It includes championship bracket rounds 1 and 2, and the consolation bracket rounds 1 and 2.

Blackbird Girls Extend Win Streak To Seven
      Pettisville recorded two easy victories in girls basketball last week to raise its record to 12-4, 7-0 in the Buckeye Border Conference. The Birds traveled to Montpelier, Tuesday, Jan. 26 for a non-league matchup. Jumping out to a 13-2 lead, PHS defeated the Locos 50-22.

Bombers Shoot Down Birds In BBC Contest
      Pettisville traveled to Edon, Friday, Jan. 29, for a Buckeye Border Conference boys basketball contest. The Bombers outscored the Birds 30-12 in the second half for a 57-43 victory. Pettisville fell to 6-7, 4-2 BBC. Edon is 4-9, 2-4 BBC.

Smith Competes In Gymnastics Classic, Jan. 30
      Kinsey Smith, an Archbold High School freshman, competed in the Rock ‘n Roll Gymnastics Classic at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School, Saturday, Jan. 30. Smith won the floor exercise with a score of 9.275. She finished third all-around with a score of 36.575 against some of the best gymnasts in the state.

      The Archbold junior varsity boys basketball team kept its perfect record intact at 15-0 with victories over Defiance 33-21 and Patrick Henry 34-33. The Streaks return home for Wauseon this week after a four-game road trip. AHS 33, Defiance 21

AHS Freshman Girls Beat Birds
      The Archbold freshman girls basketball team jumped out to a 15-8 halftime lead and held off Pettisville in the second half for a 23-20 victory, Monday, Jan. 25. Amber Loar and Katie Yoder each scored six points for Pettisville, which fell to 4-7. Amber Dykstra scored four. Taylor Coressel led Archbold with nine points. Darian Oberlin had eight. ------
